But Im having trouble setting up my DIR 601 router as a repeater to extend signal downstairs I followed the wiki tutorial as well as alot of youtube step by step guides. My plan supposedly is to make my DIR 655 (no dd wrt installed) as the main router to disperse signal and using an old DIR 601 (with dd wrt installed) as a repeater. I use my e2000 as router and want to use the e4200 as repeater. so if i connect wireless to my e4200 i can see all my devices also the one on the e2000. anyone that can tel me how to setup the e42000 ? Thanks *searched the forum but cannot find the solution

I don't have the G1100, but I was able to set up a 54G (flashed with DD-WRT) as a bridge/repeater with the prior model Actiontec 424. Off hand I can't think of any settings on the primary router I changed to work with a repeater. Take a look at the Wiki for DD-WRT. You must follow all the steps very precisely to get it to work as a bridge/repeater.
